Join our team as a Chemistry Laboratory Manager! In this position, you will expertly lead the personnel, maintain high quality standards and ensure smooth communication. Your responsibilities :

  • Oversee the management of the chemistry laboratory staff and act as a resource person;
  • Maintain the quality of the results and apply the management system according to industry standards;
  • Communicate the procedures, policies and regulations to the department;
  • Manage the inventory of materials and supplies, place necessary orders;
  • Develop, validate and monitor the performance of chemical analytical methods;
  • Coordinate staff training with Laboratory Coordinator and Technical Supervisor;
  • Optimize work methods in collaboration with the teams concerned;
  • Enforce health and safety regulations through regular inspections;
  • Support the coordinator in all aspects of personnel management;
  • Maintain a positive work climate and a good performance within the department;
  • Participate in the recruitment process and employee performance reviews;
  • Keep immediate supervisor regularly informed of laboratory performance and activities;

Job requirements

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or any other degree relevant to the position;
  • 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years of management experience;
  • Member of the Quebec Order of Chemists ;
  • Spoken and written languages: French and English (Some communications and documentation are in English);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Knowledge of LIMS software (asset);
