Join our team as a Laboratory Analyst! In this position, you will perform routine microbiology analyses. You will carry out the calibration and quality controls required by these analyses according to established internal rules, as well as compiling and transmitting analysis results to our computer system. You will support the specialist in various investigations.


Your responsibilities :

  • Perform microbiological analyses;

  • Complete laboratory documentation;

  • Prepare solutions, culture media and controls, as well as required equipment;

  • Receive and code samples in LIMS;

  • Use proper laboratory techniques to minimize the risk of mislabeling, sample mix-ups and cross-contamination between samples and other materials;

  • Participate in the maintenance of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Health Canada Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and biosafety rules;

  • Maintain equipment according to established procedures;

  • Follow up problem cases and substandard results with the Technical Manager and the Department Manager;

  • Perform various maintenance tasks in the laboratory (exemple : work areas, laundry, autoclave);

  • Participate in the implementation of new documentation tools to improve and standardize laboratory tasks;

  • Comply with existing safety regulations;

  • Participate in investigations and repeat analyses following non-compliant results;

  • Qualification, verification and calibration of laboratory instruments (balances, pH meter, incubators, etc.);

  • Participate in all training meetings to ensure that technical qualifications and professional knowledge are kept up to date;

  • Detect cases of non-compliance and communicate them to the Department Manager;

Job requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in microbiology or biology or microbiology or molecular biology or college diploma in laboratory techniques with experience;

  • Minimum 1 year experience in the field;

  • Knowledge of microbiology parameter analysis;

  • Organized, autonomous, rigorous, analytical and able to work under pressure;

  • Knowledge of GMP and GLP;

  • Fluency in French & functional English (reading documentation);
